You hold four cards. Play one onto the pile. The count climbs toward 31, and it can never pass it.
Fifteens, pairs, runs and 31s score exactly as they do in cribbage pegging. Score on back-to-back plays and a chain multiplier climbs. A 31 doesn't break it: hit 31, lead again, land another 31, and the chain keeps going. Play the whole deck. The score is the score.
Today's deck
Every player gets the same 52 cards each day. Play it once for the record, then practice it as often as you like. Keep a daily streak, and freezes cover the days you miss.
Printed, not pixelled
31 looks like a riso print: paper stock, two-pass ink and halftone dots. Every deck ends on a printed ticket that shows your score, its stamps and a grid of every play, ready to share. Turn it over to see par, the best line, and a coach's note on the play that mattered.
Things to chase
- Back-to-back 31s, clean counts, Royal 31s and runs home
- Card backs earned by play, not bought
- A records book: longest chain, most 31s, biggest play
- Your year on one poster, a square a day
For cribbage players and everyone else
If you've played, you already know the scoring. If you haven't, the first deal teaches it in about a minute.
